Description:

It is a shrub that grows up to 2.5m in height. The opposite stalked compound leaves are pinnate with 3 to 7 elliptic to elliptic-ovate leaflets with serrated margins. The fragrant bright yellow tubular flowers are borne on short, erect terminal inflorescences. Each flower is about 3cm long.

1) Stem:
The stem is stiff and cylindrical. Young stems are smooth, glabrous and greenish. The cross section is slightly quadrangular (square) and becomes light brown or reddish brown with age. The bark of the main stem is light brown to light gray, furrowed, has a relatively rough texture, and is covered with light gray to brown bark.

2) Leaf:
The leaves, 10-25 cm long, are arranged in pairs (opposite sides) and are attached to thin stems (petioles) 1-9 cm long. They are compound (pinnate) leaves with 3 to 13 leaflets, but usually have 3 to 7 leaflets. Leaflets narrow ovate outline (ovate-lanceolate) or elliptical (25–100 mm long, 8–30 mm wide) with wide ends at base and pointed (sharp tip) . Their margins are irregular, sharply serrated (toothed) and almost glabrous (glabrous), but the sides of the leaf blades are smooth and almost glabrous, but there are some hairs on the underside near the midrib. may exist.

Arrangement of leaves opposite/semi-opposite
Leaf type Odd pinnate compound leaves. Consists of 5 to 13 leaflets
leaf edge sawing
Leaf shape lanceolate to oval
leaf vein pinnate, brachiopod
Leaf type and persistence Semi-evergreen, evergreen
Leaf blades are 4 to 10 inches long. Leaflets are to 5 inches
Leaf color yellow green to dark green
Autumn color No discoloration
autumn features inconspicuous

3) Flower:
The showy flowers are borne in multi-clusters (5-15 cm long) first at the ends of the branches (terminal clusters) and then in the leaf branches (axillae) near the tips of the branches (axillae). Bright yellow in color and tubular in shape, these flowers are on short pedicels (stems) that are slightly curved or twisted. The corolla (corolla) is 30–50 mm long with five rounded lobes 8–30 mm long. The neck of the flower has a few faint reddish lines and is slightly furrowed and hairy. In some cultivars, the corolla is slightly orange-yellow with a pink line at the throat.Flowering can occur all year round.

4) Fruits:
Fertile flowers are followed by large, oval (linear), glossy, somewhat flattened (compressed) capsules (10–30 cm long, 5–20 mm wide), tapering at the end. Become. These fruits are initially green, turning brown as they ripen, and finally the bilobed capsule opens to release up to 77 paper wing seeds (42 on average). Seeds are mainly dispersed by wind and dispersed by water.

Fruit shape oblong; elongated capsule
Fruit 4 to 10 inches long
fruit topping dry or hard
