Description
of Plant:
It
is found in Nepal hills and also reported from India, China, Japan Thailand and
Vietnam. It is the subtropical tree can be found growing in many parts of the
country. It is also known as lausi or labsi. It is a deciduous tree growing up
to about 20 meters tall. The smaller branches are purple – brown in color. The
bark is deeply fissured. The plants leaves are dropping before flowering. The
drupe fruits are about 3cm to 4 cm in length and have a yellow- green color.
The tree has long been cultivated in rural Nepal for its fruit.

stones are used as brick kilns.

bark is used as medical value for treating the secondary burn.
v It’s
fruits containing vitamin c.

wood is used as light construction timber and fuel- wood.

is also used as pickles, fruits tarts, spicy candy.
